PRODUCT DETAILS:

In good times and challenging times, Japanese curry is comforting and nourishing, and super easy to make. I am offering my Curry Brick Spice Kit for purchase. It’s all natural. I use a balanced mix of 17 different spices and seasonings in this blend, including Diaspora single origin turmeric, cardamom, chili pepper and black pepper. It’s a mild curry to suit anyone’s palate but you can make it as spicy as you want by adding more cayenne pepper or fresh chili pepper. The roux can be made with butter or non dairy fat like coconut oil or cashew oil. You can use all purpose flour or whole grain flour. If you have gluten issues, use a gluten free flour like Mochiko (sweet rice flour).

This spice kit produces 9 tablespoons of curry powder. Use the curry powder to make up to 9 quick curry bricks (each brick can make curry to serve four). If you don’t have a mini loaf pan, you can pour the curry roux in silicone ice mold or on a half sheet pan and cut it into any size or shape you like .If you cut the roux into 9 bricks, each brick will make 4 servings of curry. Wrap in foil or parchment paper and store in the fridge or freezer. Keeps fresh for 1 month in the fridge or 4-6 months in the freezer. You will learn how to use the bricks like a bouillon cube in no time. Here is a review of the Curry Bricks by Food and Wine. Here is the link to the New York Times story and recipe about the curry brick by Tejal Rao.

I hope this curry brick kit and curry brick will become your essential pantry item Thank you for your support.
