“If the idea of preparing homemade dumplings sounds intimidating, you are not alone. But with a handful of simple techniques and a grasp of fundamental flavors, you can make dumplings that look beautiful and taste great. Join Sonoko Sakai, who brings decades of experience teaching Japanese home cooking, for a guest class focused on making gyoza (pan-fried dumplings) from scratch. In this workshop, you will learn two different fillings: pork and shrimp, and a mushroom and cabbage version that will delight vegetable lovers. In addition to traditional folding techniques and the method to cook your gyoza perfectly, you'll also learn sauces to accompany the gyoza. Along the way, you'll learn Sonoko's approach to balanced flavors and will have the opportunity to ask her any questions you may have.”
