A concentratedly tart and flavorful drinking vinegar. Shrub is often enjoyed over ice, diluted with cold still or sparkling water. This Sonoko shrub is made using hand-picked Oro Blanco grapefruits. The fruit comes from the generous, established tree in Sonoko’s own backyard.

Purchase of this product includes one 16-ounce bottle of Sonoko Shrub. Refrigerate upon receipt. Store in the refrigerator.

Ingredients: Oro Blanco grapefruit, rice vinegar, cane sugar, fresh thyme.

Uses: This shrub is excellent for use in cocktails or mocktails. Add 1 oz to a glass, along with 5-8 oz of cold water (still or sparkling). For a cocktail, stir in an ounce of the liquor of your choice. For this grapefruit shrub we recommend gin or tequila. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a wedge of fresh grapefruit and enjoy! This tart shrub also serves as an aromatic addition to salad dressings or in other cooking where a little sharpness is needed. Sonoko adds a splash to her Japanese Curry just before serving.
